When Life Happens
On December 26, 2016 a horrific accident took the lives of two of my family members and sent two
others to the hospital with traumatic brain injuries. I closed my studio, became a medical guardian, and began a journey
no one can imagine who has not seen or been down this kind of road with a loved one. I rededicated my life to a new
way of experiencing my creative voice in advocating for someone who could not advocate for themself.
Today is January 30, 2018. Over a year has slide by and my studio remains
closed. It is true; we are not able to bring our loved ones back when their souls have left us on Earth. However, when
we're lucky and events fall right with the universe, we can sometimes bring a loved one back from a brain injury.
That is the case here. I am thankful beyond words.
Now
what? After the joy, the relief, the thankful prayers, there is silence when the healing is completed.
It's a strange and unfamiliar goal - Silence.
Behind me you find the recent five years of abdominal
surgeries including a failed hernia mesh. The Accident of which I now speak. A studio closed far too long.
Hopes, Dreams, Questions, and Fears. What comes out of "The Place Between" ... that space After 'was'
... and Before what might be 'new' or 'again?'
